Today’s film comes to you from the top of the Space Needle! I’ve got one full day in Seattle before an early train to LA tomorrow, and last night was my very first date night with myself – my first dinner out alone.
This morning I wandered round Pike Place Market, picked up some salami and walked the 12 blocks up to the Space Needle. By two o’clock I’d done as much of Seattle as I wanted to, and I was quite happy to head back to my room and order a pizza later.
But the evening turned out to be an unexpected joy. I got chatting to some people at the bar, then met Shannon and Todd from Canada, who wanted to try The Pink Door after I told them about it – so we went for dinner together. Oysters and a beautiful piece of halibut, milky white and cooked to perfection. It was so lovely to have people ask about me for once. A good day.
