This is not a rant. It’s me calmly getting a few thoughts out of my head – and filling in those of you who are new here.
Someone asked why I’d struggle to pay for things when I “get free stuff” on Instagram. If something is gifted, I always say so. This week, for example, I was gifted some gorgeous Rowse honey – a brand I’d already talked about long before they sent me any. I’ve turned down a great deal of free stuff because it doesn’t fit with me. To be completely transparent: I now have an agent, and going forward I only want to work with brands I’ve genuinely supported in the past. Money isn’t a dirty word – I have bills to pay and food to buy.
Someone else said my charity post was a bit preachy. I’m very much an in-the-moment person: I was packing up things for the charity shop and wanted to share a thought about how much hospices are struggling. I know I don’t need to justify myself – I just like keeping all of you in this lovely communal loop. And I’m being kind to myself. That’s it. Very calm!
