Filmed live for International Cocktail Day. This is my go-to when I’m going out and feeling a bit nervous – it’s not sweet, and I’m pretty chilled by the time I arrive. I’m not a gin drinker, so mine is vodka.
Ingredients
Serves 1
- A large shot of good-quality vodka (at least 40ml – I’m generous)
- 15ml dry vermouth (I use Noilly Prat)
- 10–15ml olive brine
- 3 olives on a cocktail stick
- Plenty of ice
- Vermouth in an atomiser, to finish (optional)
Method
- Put your glass in the freezer.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and add the vodka, vermouth and olive brine.
- Give it a really good shake, then strain into the frozen glass.
- Add the olives and finish with a spritz of vermouth from an atomiser.
Jules’s tip
Never contaminate your olive jar – always use a spoon or fork to get them out, and they’ll keep much longer.
Cheers! – Jules x
