A bonus pair for National Martini Day: my elderflower martini, which I adore, and a 50/50, which is one for the vermouth lovers. By all means use gin, but you know me – I’m a vodka girl.
Ingredients
Each serves 1
- Elderflower martini: 50ml vodka, 20ml elderflower liqueur, 10ml dry vermouth
- 50/50 martini: 40ml vodka, 40ml dry vermouth, 2 dashes orange bitters
- Plenty of ice
Method
- For either martini, put plenty of ice in a cocktail shaker and add the ingredients.
- Lid on, give it a good shake.
- Strain straight up (no ice) into a chilled glass.

Undecided about the 50/50? If you’re a vermouth fan, it’s the one for you. The elderflower is my favourite.
