Day drinking with Jules, episode three – coming to you from the monthly snail club lunch, with my partner in crime Nicholas McCarthy (go and follow him!).
What did we eat? A beautiful gazpacho, then salmon en croûte – officially the best we’ve ever had. A whole side of salmon, not overcooked in the slightest. Sublime. And for pudding, baked Alaska: seriously one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Everyone else was having a polite spoonful or two. I politely left one tablespoon, just as a gesture. I could have eaten the lot.
Not a lot left in the glasses by this point – and I’m two sheets to the wind. Cheers!
