I only ever use butter. In cooler months it lives in the butter dish, but in this heat it’s either in the fridge or a puddle. So I looked into spreadable butters for my toast emergencies.
I compared the percentage of butter to rapeseed oil (no olive oil blends for me, because I want to taste the butter). Lurpak came in at 64%, Anchor at 50% (come on, Anchor!), Country Life at 66% and Yeo Valley at 70%. The winner was All Things Butter at 76%.
It has just four ingredients: butter, rapeseed oil, salt and water. No nasties. It’s not butter, but it spreads straight from the fridge and has a good level of saltiness. It’ll get me through the hot months.
