I tried desperately to stay awake last night but crashed at eight and woke at half two. So I’m up, showered and ready for some early sightseeing before checkout at noon.
Here’s the plan for the next few days: at three o’clock this afternoon I catch the train from Chicago up to Milwaukee, then on through Minnesota and North Dakota – Bismarck and beyond – arriving in Spokane (Washington State, not Montana!) around midnight on Thursday, and Seattle on Friday afternoon. A couple of days there with a harbour cruise and a wander round Pike Place Market. Can’t wait.
