Seattle to Northern California – and I’m excited all over again to be back in my little Amtrak cocoon. I’m also very hungover after last night’s fun, so today might call for a carb-heavy lunch (I don’t normally have lunch on the train – three meals a day is too much!).
Good news: the line’s clear, so no rail-replacement bus this time. And by pure chance I’m on the right-hand side of the train, which means I’ll get the best views when we hug the coast further south. Little things, and I’m grateful for them.
By evening we’re passing through Eugene in Oregon, I’m booked in for the last dinner sitting at 7.30, and I’m thoroughly enjoying train life. I’ve also included another little roomette tour: two chairs that pull together into a bed, reading and night lights, three hangers, a pop-out table and a charging point. Everything you could possibly want!
